'Karma' means action and 'yoga' means unity of mind with god. So, Karma yoga is a spiritual action which we can perform in the world and achieve the state of devotional unity with god. According to the great Hindu scriptures any action done with 'Nishkamya Bhava' is Karma.
Every human being is subjected to the affect of karma and bound to be influenced by all the karmas. Karma yoga is not only the favorite of lord Krishna, but it is the favorite of all yogis all over the world. We all perform karma in the level of senses, mind, emotion and interaction. Thereby it is very important to know how the karma influences us and how to manage the affect of karma's in our life, reported indiainteracts.
It is said in Bhagavad Gita, the Karma yoga means the action of yoga or the appropriate action or the perfection of action is a Karma yoga. To begin Karma yoga it is very important to get immune from the effect of action and reaction. At this point of time we are not immune from the effect of karma, we all are influenced by the effects of Karma. Since karma becomes the method to understand life, to improve quality of life and transend life, therefore when we perform any karma with attachment, with any ego or desire it becomes the reason for bondage.
But when this karma is performed without any ego, desire or any association then it becomes the path of freedom or liberation. But to experience that we have to first become immune from the effect of karma and to do this, we have to start with awareness towards the karma. It is not just a blind belief but it is completely becoming aware of what we are doing in our life. Thereby it will help us to broaden our perception of our mind, when we involve our self in doing any action. This will help us to perform karma and understand action. And when we understand what is happening and what we are doing, and when we become mind full, then you will able to perfect that karma. This fulfills the definition of karma as per Bhagavad Gita.
