"Mile sur mera tumhara" was first conceptualised and conceived by late Suresh Mallick and first aired on Doordarshan on Aug 15, 1988. Arti and Kailash Surendranath have again recreated this patriotic song after 22 years and presented as "Phir mile sur".

'Phir Mile Sur' premiered on the occasion of Republic Day, January 26, 2010. The song is pictured beautifully and brings together several celebrities from varied fields including Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Malayalam actor Mamooty, Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan, Shiv Mani, Singer Kavita Krishnamurthi, Sonu Nigam, Yesu Das, Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, Choreogrpher Shiamak Davar, Sportsperson Abhinav Bindra, Vijendra Singh, Baichung Bhutia to a few names along with other prominent personalities feature in the new version of the song.
