Photographer Alex Barredo shoots stunning kitchens for Leicht
Alex Barredo is known across Canada for his versatility in his craft. He is an architectural, portrait, fashion, and commercial photographer. He shoots luxury homes and hotels, to portraits of artists and celebrities, to working with fashion brands on product and campaign, and also shoots advertising work for restaurants and commercial companies.

With such a range, his style varies depending on his shoot, from intense and visceral to clean and dynamic. Every genre of work he does requires a certain amount of style and flair that needs to be in conjunction with the company that hires him. He knows just how to make a brand connect with its consumer, or to make a portrait of a renowned individual shine, and that is why he is an internationally-sought after photographer.

"My life is a constant blend of shooting, editing, emails, sleep, repeat, seven days a week. As a photographer, there are no weekends or holidays. You work when you want, how you want. And I love that," said Barredo.

Barredo has been taking over the West Coast and has no plans on slowing down. Shooting for prestigious clients day-in and day-out, he loves what he does. He is best known for his portrait work of Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. back in 2015, as he often shoots for the Trump hotel and tower in Vancouver. In doing so, he also shot billionaire Joo Kim, who built Trump Vancouver. Beyond shooting celebrities, Barredo is vastly talented at shooting architecture, exemplified with his most recent work with the award-winning luxury home design firm VictorEric.

Last year, Barredo also began working with the German company Leicht Kitchens, giving him yet another opportunity to show off his architectural photography talents. Barredo was recommended to Maxim Gotsutsov and Dmitry Bogouslavski, the co-owners of the company in Vancouver and Western Canada. After looking at his portfolio, they gave the photographer the opportunity to shoot a couple of projects for them. Since then, Barredo has worked with them closely on every major project they have completed.

"Fate and my love for design and architecture brought me in sights of the Leicht team. Working with Leicht has allowed me to further develop my skills into shooting architectural photography. Knowing they are the biggest kitchen design company in the world made me so excited to be given the chance to work with them," he said.

Since working with Leicht, Barredo has come to appreciate kitchens as the most important part of the home. With the help of Leicht's meticulous team, Barredo captures the homey feeling of the room while still showcasing the beauty of Leicht's kitchen designs. His ability to showcase each design in its own light allows the consumer to see that Leicht is a design company like no other, and that motivates Barredo to work even harder to help the company grow exponentially.

"It's always a beautiful new kitchen every time we connect on a new project. It's amazing to see months and months of planning come into fruition," he said.

Barredo's vast experience with architectural photography gave him the platform to understand how to light and capture all the details that otherwise might be overlooked in Leicht's kitchens. His efforts have truly paid off for the company, as they have won the International Global Kitchen Design for Canada Award two years in a row now, the exact amount of time Barredo has been shooting for them.

"It is great to know my work has helped put the company on the map and instill the brand as one of the most prestigious Kitchen Design companies in Vancouver. With Vancouver being such a powerful real estate city, it's amazing to know Leicht is on the brink of taking over," he said.

Barredo is excited to work with the Leicht team as they continue to grow. As his career moves forward, he hopes to continue working with the prestigious companies he does already, and one day, maybe even capture a photograph that can change the world. For those looking to follow in his footsteps, he has a few wise words to offer.

"Don't fear anyone or anything, and most importantly, shoot as much as you can," he advised.
