Despite the tall claims of the concerned departments, water supplied to residents in the so-called Millennium City contains 'total dissolved solids' much higher than the permissible limit of 500 mg/ per litre thanks to the pipelines leakages.
AFTER AIR, water is the most essential need of human beings. Just imagine when it is not provided in right quality and quantity, what happens? A few months ago we got the water sample checked through the concerned department itself, and it was found that the water was not worth drinking.
Only yesterday when our technician visited to check our RO and on examining the water sample at our source, it was found that the total dissolved solids are much higher than the permissible limit of 500 mg/ per litre. Even other day the same was reported by one of the local dailies that the water being supplied by the MCG is not of good quality and it can lead to diseases.
The pipeline leakages are not attended on priority that leads to contamination. The entire mud and filthy water is thus pumped to the villagers around Millennium City. Ward no 1 is one of the worst neglected areas under the MCG.
It is suggested that the public health department takes care in the supply of water of good quality and quantity and the leakages are taken care of on top priority basis. A leakage reported last week was attended exactly after seven days; this is how the department works.
