Speaking on the team's performance and victory march, Gujarat Fortunegiants' coach Manpreet Singh said, "It is good for kabaddi lovers that a team playing its first season is putting up a great show. I wish we continue to deliver such performances. I also hope we see other teams step up to the occasion and play like Gujarat Fortunegiants have done so far."
He further added, "Fazel played exceptionally well and was supported by Abozar."
One of the best raiders from Gujarat Fortunegiants, Sachin Tawar opened his team's account in the first minute of the match while in the second minute, Pune's defenders scored their first point as the initial few minutes witnessed a close competition between the two sides.
However, the defenders of Fortunegiants kept their grip over the match throughout the game and didn't let the experience of Pune's raiders Deepak Niwas Hooda and Rajesh Mondal hamper their unbeaten run. Gujarat took down Deepak Niwas Hooda with Fazel's strong ankle hold giving them a four points lead during the 12th minute of the first half.
Fortunegiants' defenders forced the first all-out of the match taking the score to 14-5 for their team. From there on, the Pune team couldn't make their way back and at half time the score was 16-7. Fortunegiants easily dominated in rest of the match.
Fortunegiants scored a total of 13 raid points while Pune collected 11 points. Pune managed to gather 10 points from the tackle but did not get a single all-out point against Gujarat.
The 'Star Raider of the Match' award was given to Gujarat Fortunegiants' skipper Sukesh Hegde while their key defender player Fazel Atrachali was named 'Player of the Match' for having scored nine tackle points.
