Playboy returns to its roots by once again featuring nudity on its March/April 2017 cover
A year after washing its hands off full-frontal nudity, Playboy is returning back to its roots with its March/April 2017 issue by announcing on the cover: "Naked is normal." The cover also does away with the magazine's conformist tagline: "Entertainment for Men."

Cooper Hefner, the son of Playboy's founder Hugh Hefner and the magazine's present chief creative officer, says that the evolution of the magazine "is a reflection of how the brand can best connect with my generation and generations to come."

Regarding the decision of removing the phrase "Entertainment for Men" from the cover of the magazine, Hefner said, "Playboy will always be a lifestyle brand focused on men's interests, but as gender roles continue to evolve in society, so will we."

Launched during the 1950s, Playboy surprised many after announcing in 2015 that it planned to cut down on nudity. However, the move saw the circulation of the adults magazine drop to 800,000. Many even made comments like "Make Playboy Great Again" coinciding with President Trump's "Make America Great Again."
