Pleasant weather after light showers in the Capital but a headache for office & college goers
After facing unbearable humid weather, light showers occurred in some parts of the Capital on Thursday. The minimum temperatures settled two notches below the season's average at 25.2 degree Celsius.

Since Tuesday morning, the city has received about 26.5 mm rainfall. The Metrological Dept. has forecast thunderstorms with light to moderate rain during the day, "The sky will remain generally cloudy. Thunderstorms with light to moderate rain would occur in some areas. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 34 degree Celsius", as reported. At 8:30 AM humidity was recorded at 92 percent. The maximum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 degree Celsius, as rain is expected in rest of the day.

Although, rain brought some relief from the humid weather but it also created a lot of problems. On Thursday morning, people faced traffic disruptions due to water logging in many areas. Merinews had a word with a few people who were stuck in traffic.

Pankaj, Lecturer

It's been an hour that I am stuck in traffic. Every year this thing happens. Certainty, monsoons are in their initial stage, but as they become more intense with time, the city is likely to face heavy storms and rainfall. Evidently, this will not only lead deracination of trees but also affect the normal routine of life. Possibly, this is the time when the MCD should take some serious action in order to avoid upcoming problems.

Rashmi Rohatgi, Student

Water logging, long traffic jams, what else you can expect in this rainy season. Every year the concerned authority claim that they are ready for the monsoon, but as soon as it arrives, we encounter with same old problems. Nothing will change.
