PM Modi's address on the occasion of 99th birthday celebrations of Dada Vaswani
On the occasion of 99th birthday of Dada Vaswani, the spiritual head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, celebrated on August 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his message said that Dada Vaswani worked his whole life for the service of people and society.

Praising Dada Vaswani and his Mission, Modi added that Sadhu Vaswani's words opened a new path for the people and his Mission had been helping the poor and oppressed people by making their lives easier and meaningful.

Dada Vaswani, born on 2 August in 1918, is regarded as a non-sectarian spiritual leader in India and his Mission has been promoting spiritual life, vegetarianism and compassion towards animals. The Mission is a non-profit organisation headquartered in Pune.

Dada Vaswani has also written over 150 self-help books advocating spirituality and righteous living. He had initiated 'The Moment of Calm' as a global peace initiative to be observed on his birthday. World over, people at his Mission branches and his followers observed two minutes of silence today and  resolved to forgive one and all.

A famous saying of Dada Vaswani on 'forgiveness' goes like this, "Life is too short to be spent in fault-finding, holding grudges, or keeping memory of wrongs done to us. Forgive even before forgiveness is asked. Forgive and forget."

Dada Vaswani's philosophy and teachings, which draw strength from Lord Jhulelal's teachings as well as Hindu spiritualisms, have a great sway on Sindhi community.

"Thought is a tremendous force in the life of any individual. Thoughts shape our attitudes. Attitudes mould our character. Character influences our life. By changing our thought pattern, we can change our life," Dada Vaswani had once said.
