PM's anguish justified over delayed information of Afzal's hanging to family

It refers to Prime Minister joining others in expressing his displeasure on style of informing family-members of Afzal Guru about his execution. In present days of communication-facilities, it was not impossible to timely pre-inform Guru's family when every knowledgeable person could well understand that a 'Speed Post' mailed so late could practically not be delivered in time.

Secrecy of hanging could have been maintained even if government had picked up Guru’s family and brought them in a plane from Kashmir. Peculiar circumstances and sensitiveness of the case could allow government for making extra facility and expense for Afzal Guru’s family.

Secrecy of hanging should be maintained in all cases to prevent family-members/supporters of convict rushing to courts for stay on hanging. Execution should be supersonic after rejection of mercy-petitions like was done in case of Ajmal Kasab and Afzal Guru. Crimes like terrorist-activities and murders will witness a sharp decline when hangings will be done soonest possible after the crime, saving large number of lives than those killed through execution of death-sentence.
