PMSPL gears up to handle the festive season in Puducherry
Puducherry Municipal services Private Limited (PMSPL) will be employing 30% more people and also introduce another shift to clear the extra garbage generated during the Diwali celebrations in the city.

PUDUCHERRY MUNICIPAL services Private Limited, India’s first truly Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Project, announced today that it was gearing up to handle the extra waste generated during the festival season of Diwali in Puducherry and Oulgaret Municipalities and the Commune. PMSPL will be employing 30% more people and also introduce another shift to clear the extra garbage generated during the Diwali celebrations in the city. PMSPL will also deploy 20% more vehicles to clear the bins and keep the city clean. This is to ensure that the roads and streets are kept clean throughout, thus maintaining and assuring a clean and healthy environment to the residents of the urban agglomeration of Puducherry.


Speaking on the deployment of more work force and vehicles, Lt. Col. (Retd) CP Prem Vas, COO, PMSPL, said “It is going to be a challenge for PMSPL to maintain the high standards of the cleanliness that it has initiated during the festival season of Diwali. PMSPL assures each and every individual that it will continue the efforts even during the festival season by deploying more men and machine and ensure a clean Puducherry at all times”.

Puducherry Municipal Services Private Limited is India's first "truly" Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Project for the Urban Agglomeration areas of Puducherry. PMSPL (Puducherry Municipal Services Private Limited) is a joint venture between Puducherry Urban Development Agency (PUDA), a Government of Puducherry agency and Kivar Environ. The project is based on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and is structured on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. Puducherry Urban Agglomeration consists of the municipalities of Puducherry, Oulgaret and the Commune Panchayats of Ariankuppam and Villianur.
