A factory at Tandwali village, involved in manufacturing fake milk cake was busted by a team of district administration and health department. While the police managed to arrest the salesman, the factory owner fled before the raid was conducted.
Interestingly, names of the confectioners of various states - Haryana, Punjab,
Uttar Pradesh and Himachal - were also mentioned in the record that was recovered during the raid. The police has registered a case under various section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The salesman, Pawan, told the team during the interrogation that around 1000 kilogram of fake milk cake was being manufactured daily at the factory. Moreover, a confectioner of the area had also bought two quintals of cake on Thursday. The raid was led by magistrate, Gagandeep Singh along with sub divisional magistrate (SDM), Ashwani Maggu, tehsildar Satish Bhardwaj, naib tehsildar Pratap Singh, chief medical officer (CMO), VK Sharma, station house officer (SHO), Prem Singh, chief medical officer (CMO), VK Sharma and Inspector, RR Gautam.
In another incident, the Sirsa police unearthed a spurious soft drinks manufacturing factory by arresting three persons. A complain was lodged with the police by a leading soft drink company alleging that three persons were involved in manufacturing fake soft drinks at Rania village of Sirsa district. The police raided the premises and recovered a gas cylinder, 288 empty bottles and 58 filled bottles of
Pepsi, which were fake.
