Policy implication oriented research needed; not only t-value significance at 95 per cent level of significance with many disconnections: VC Prof MM Goel
"To draw policy implications (not suggestions) flowing from the objectives and major findings of the research studies is the greatest challenge in the quality of research. Let us enrich ourselves with a variety of experiences without phobias for trying a variety of research methodologies based on primary and secondary data,' stated Prof. M.M. Goel, Vice Chancellor Jagan Nath University here today, February 16, in a press release.

He was delivering valedictory address of the refresher course 'Research Methods in Social Sciences and Humanities' at UGC HRDC, University of Rajasthan   on the topic 'Challenges in Quality of   Research'.

To keep our passion for research and writing, let us accept the challenge of no cut and paste job which amounts to plagiarism (intellectual theft) which is punishable by Law, believes Professor Goel.

There is a strong case for substantial funding for conducting high quality research for finding economically viable solution to the emerging challenges. There is a need for policy implication oriented research and not only t - value significance at 95 percent level of significance with many disconnections, told Professor Goel.

Let the young researchers feel motivated to apply for major and minor research projects as there is no dearth of money with the UGC, told Professor Goel

The quality of research is directly correlated with the infrastructure, commitment of the researcher and guide to do something worthwhile, told Professor Goel.

We are required to learn to tell the findings in an objective manner, told Prof. Goel who has successfully guided 21 PhD scholars and 25 MPhil dissertations at KUK.

Earlier, Professor V.V. Singh delivered welcome address. Dr. Rashmi Jain course coordinator presented the report of the refresher course.

Dr Amithy Jasrotia Course Co-coordinator proposed the vote of thanks and acted as master of ceremony also.
