Policy reforms needed for pensioners
A policy should be framed to deal with the price-rise after inflation that acts as a cushion for the pensioners

INFLATION IS consistently on the rise and it is proving a nightmare for pensioners having no other income/savings.

Pensioners mainly have just their regular pension to support them; inflation is a big worry for them. Some measures should be initiated for them like social support, discount vouchers and more.

As far as medical facilities are concerned, government-run dispensaries and hospitals do provide subsidized medicines and treatments and also reservations are there for senior citizens in the railways and other government facilities.

However, the number of government dispensaries and the facilities available are not up to the mark and thus leave a scope for improvement. Also, there are senior citizens who are living alone in the cities and towns, who need security and support as their children have left for greener pastures abroad, these pensioners need some facilities in the private sector as well in daily use amenities.

Alternatively, a policy should be framed to deal with the price-rise after inflation that acts as a cushion for the pensioners.

Such measures will help pensioners in meeting the ends just with the amount of their pension. It is also time the children understand their responsibility towards their parents and help them during the tough time.
