Political parties in Telangana must give a reasonable number of seats to youths
All political parties have youth wing and they talk of youth empowerment. They utilize the services of the youth in a big way from organising their rallies, meetings, agitations, campaigning etc. The youth participate enthusiastically, but one should agree that, they are used as pawns just to fulfil the ambitions of the grand old politicians and parties.
So many elections have been held in this country and percentage of youth representation is negligible percentage from panchayat to parliament. In the name of youth representation the party's strong man/woman kin are given ticket. Does any party give ticket to someone from their youth wing and gets him/her elected?

During the forthcoming elections the parties are targeting first-time voters, requesting them to be part of the kingmaker process. It would be highly appreciable if the parties field such youth candidates who are not kins of bigwigs. If at least 10% youths are fielded for parliamentary elections and 30% youths for assembly seats then it will be real youth empowerment.

Telangana politicians and parties say that, it is due to the sacrifices made by the youths in the region the statehood dream has come true. As a real mark of respect to those who have made sacrifices for the cause of statehood, the parties should give more seat share to the youths and talk of better employment opportunity or development of the state.

Yes, it can happen if the youth wing of the parties and other student organizations take a firm stand on the issue.
