Political parties in Haryana have decided to join hands to make the April 27th nationwide strike a success, against price rise of essential commodities.
FIVE POLITICAL parties in Haryana have decided to join hands to make the April 27th nationwide strike a big success, against price rise of essential commodities. Preparations for the strike were reviewed in a joint meeting held at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) office here on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by Capt. Inder Singh former MP of INLD, Inderjit Singh and Ramchander Siwach of CPI(M), Azad Singh of CPI, Jora Singh of JD(S), Anoop Singh of LJP and Kaptan Singh of the RLD.
The leaders, after the meeting, claimed positive response for the nationwide general strike against price rise and to press the demand for roll back of enhanced prices of petrol, diesel and fertilizers, was encouraging.
“All sections of people in Haryana have been facing a situation of insecurity on all fronts like power and water supply, Public Distribution System (PDS) and law and order. They feel that the Congress in Haryana is refusing to learn any lesson from its electoral setback in last assembly elections,” they alleged.
The meeting also condemned "brutal" violent attack in Mirchpur village on April 21 last. The leaders also demanded implementation of all assurances given by the state government to the aggrieved families in order to restore the sense of security necessary to rehabilitate all those families who had fled the village due to fear of further violent reprisals.
