DPN also resolved to continue its work and carry out organizational programmes across the state as it had given a ray of hope to the youth. It also said that the youth of the state are attracted by the political thought and ideology of the party.
DEMOCRATIC PARTY (Nationalist) (DPN), which held a meeting of its Provincial Executive Committee in Srinagar under the chairmanship of President Gh. Hassan Mir has called for all political parties to come together to put an end to the trap of death, destruction and poverty in the state. The party said it was collective responsibility of the political forces as well as civil society to find a viable solution to the problems faced by the state.

It also called upon finding new ways to make the state economically independent and self-sufficient as Jammu and Kashmir has to compete and integrate in a globalised world. If the state does not move forward, then the problem lies with state leadership, said the executive, exhorting one and all to rise above parochial political lines to bring development in the state.DPN also congratulated the people of J&K for enthusiastically participating in the Panchayat elections & urged the Government and the political parties to empower newly elected Panchayat members so that people’s confidence in democracy and democratic institutions gets reinforced. DPN asked the government to ensure that the executive and bureaucracy of the state should not become hurdle in transferring the power to Panchayats in its real sense.
DPN urged the newly elected Panches to shoulder their responsibilities in a fair manner as the people have reposed the trust on them, DPN urged them to work with competence and commitment.Congratulating the government for conducting free and fair Panchayat elections, DPN urged the state government that municipal and local bodies elections should also be conducted at the earliest in same way so that our urban areas also get duly elected competent and committed representatives for upgrading the urban facilities on modern lines.Referring to frequent complaints of people across the state regarding scarcity of rations, DPN proposed that the Panches may be involved to streamline the PDS system.Senior Vice President, G.
