While entry to both the legislative houses can only be permitted to those, who are above 25 years of age, it doesn't mean that one cannot enter this sacred profession! One can begin by university and college elections too.

The field has no prescribed minimum educational qualification; some political parties prefer candidates, who have acquired degrees/diplomas from fake universities and colleges, as it will facilitate such people in launching fake universities/colleges once they are elected.

 

For professional experience, while many demand leadership qualities etc, there are still a few who want a minimum five years of experience in the trade. The latter group looks for opportunists, who have never shown faith in one party and can go to any extent, namely bribing other politicians to buy their votes during a no confidence motion, officers to get his/her work done at any cost especially building flats illegally and getting government jobs for relatives.

There are a select few parties who look for honest souls, a few others look for fraudsters, non punctual and undisciplined, people with past criminal records in kidnapping, murder and extortion.
