Poll results show hung Parliament in UK, British PM Theresa May to address the nation
As per the latest update on poll results in the British media, hung parliament has resulted in the UK with the Conservatives losing their majority.

The British PM Theresa May of the Conservative Party had called the election three years prior than it was due. She had expected to boost her party's parliamentary majority, but her party has fallen short of the 326 seats required for a majority.

In the poll results, the Conservative Party has emerged the biggest party. However, media has reported that May has no intention of resigning as Prime Minister and is desperately trying to work out a majority in coalition with the Democratic Unionist Party.

May will address the nation in a short while at 10 am as per the British Standard Time in which she is expected to make her intentions clear.

In the meanwhile, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has demanded May's resignation.

May has been serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2016, the second female to hold both positions.

It was on April 18, May had called a parliamentary vote to hold an early general election on June 8 as the 'only way to guarantee certainty and security for years ahead'.
