Poor labour class faces consequences courtesy HUDA
The poor labour class and their families, mostly from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha, etc., come to Gurgaon to earn their bread and butter. But imagine when one fine morning you are told by the labour contractor that the construction work has been stopped due to the bore well water issue. What happens to their daily wage and their dependents.

YESTERDAY, I happened to have an evening walk in Sector 109 where promoters and real estate developers such as Raheja, Cladium, ATS, Chintels, Shoba and others are constructing multi-storied flats while a Raheja project has already reached the 13th storey.

When I inquired about the reason of stoppage of construction, I was told that HUDA has issued an instruction to stop work till they have their own water storage permission. Meanwhile, through out the night, water tankers are still plying for these developers to carry on work, though at slow speed.

Was the Senior Town Planner, HUDA, sleeping when the licenses to such builders were approved? In what way is the poor labour class at fault and are now suffering? Mind you, most of them have either returned to their home towns or shifted to Noida in search of jobs.

The Senior Town Planner, HUDA, is also called Planner, but it seems it can’t plan its own movements and orders, etc. Who allowed the construction to touch the 13th storey? This might be a case of malpractice. Once they have been pulled up from the top, JE, SDO, etc., they are now running up and down to stop the construction work in such places, and have lately issued such drastic orders.
