Porsche Motors, the German car manufacturer has planned to sell 50 units of its newly-launched luxury sedan Panamera in India in this fiscal year. The Panamera range of luxury sedan cars would be launched in October this year.
GERMAN CAR manufacturer Porsche plans to sell 50 units of its newly launched luxury sedan Panamera in India this fiscal year. The Panamera range of luxury sedan cars are priced between Rs1.4 crores to Rs2 crores and would be launched in October this year. The Panamera debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show, China in April this year.
Bookings for the car are already underway Porsche cars and Indian dealership, Precision Cars India, has already registered 13 bookings. Precision Cars is the only importer of Porsche cars in India. Porsche markets '911' convertibles and coupes, Boxster, Cayenne and Cayman cars. Talking to news reporters, the managing director for Precision Motors, Rod Wallace said, “We have set up a new plant in Germany exclusively, to manufacture Panamera luxury sedan." The plant is capable of manufacturing 20,000 units of the cars annually.
Even though India contributes only a meager percentage to the global sales for Porsche, Precision Motors is keen to open three new dealerships in the country. Currently, the biggest market for Porsche cars remains Mumbai followed by Delhi and other cities.
