Post AAP's victory in Delhi elections, now BJP must take steps to save its image
Victory of AAP in Delhi Assembly elections and the decimation of BJP, has a warning for BJP that should keep ii on its toes. Modi ji has started Swachh Bharat campaign but it is regretted that the Municipal Corporations of Delhi have not taken any significant action to make the campaign a success. The Municipal Corporations need to be pulled up.

On the defence front, we are facing repeated violations of ceasefire by the Pakistani forces. Similarly, Chinese often intrude into our territory at their will. We, therefore, need to strengthen our defence preparedness and be prepared to give fitting replies to both these hostile neighbours.

For this purpose, we need to build a defence treaty with Israel who could be a trusted friend if we extend a hand towards it. This is absolutely necessary because the Islamic State (ISIS) is threatening to organise terrorist activities against India. Friendship with USA also needs to be built but we must have such friendship on the condition that the USA would check wahabbism of Saudi Arabia which is building a chain of madarsas committed to the fanatical and radical school of Islam called Wahabbism.

The USA has also to weaned away from Pakistan for which all the tricks available with us in diplomatic field would have to be played. For countering China, we need to recognize Tibetan Government-in-Exile and help them militarily to fight for the freedom of Tibet from Chinese Yoke.

On the economic front, the Government is the best which governs the least. We are having a top heavy Government. What we need a lean, slim and trim Government so that we can cut down on expenditure. Management audits need to be undertaken and there is Geetakrishanan report which needs to be implemented to prune the staff.

Economic reforms need to be implemented and many superfluous Ministries/Departments need to be abolished. License system including licensing of mining, quota, permit system also needs to be abolished. There is a need for Administrative Reforms and cutting down of procedures. People from abroad would invest in our country only if the time taken in getting permission for setting up an industry is minimum.

Public Sector is a white elephant and needs to be abolished. Various public sector undertakings provide staff to the concerned Ministries thereby allowing the staff of the latter to relax and enjoy life. They are also utilised by Minister and higher officers of the concerned Ministries to throw parties at public expense.

Similarly, they keep guest houses for Ministers and higher officers which are provided to the latter at nominal expense. They also provide their staff cars and taxis for taking the Ministers and other higher officers to the places of their interest. All of them need to be disbanded after disinvestment.

Corruption including moral corruption is increasing in the country and needs to be checked. For this, Police Reforms, Administrative Reforms and Judicial Reforms are essential. Meanwhile, raids should be conducted to recover Income tax and other taxes. Health, medicare, mental health, safe drinking water and sanitation must be provided to all. In addition, there should be housing, clothing and food for everybody. BJP must do all this to built up its image which has suffered lately.
