Many new schemes are introduced by the state, and central government while practically it hardly helps these needy farmers who are under debt, and their children sleep on an empty stomach at night.
IN OUR mahaan country India, even today if a Girl child is born in a family in remote areas, it is considered a curse. We have yet another most dreadful disease prevailing in our country - it is called poverty.
The farmers, in particular in the villages, do raise loans for the purchase of seeds, manure, and machinery, etc. Being honest by nature these farmers, at times, are unable to repay the loans which in some cases leads to suicides. There have been cases when it is said that even their next generation keeps on paying the interest besides the principle till it is fully paid. Not only the money, even the borrowers' family members work in the money lender’s house/ farms.
In drought-hit areas of South Maharshtra, suicides cases are very widespread. A lot of new new schemes are introduced by the state and central government while practically it hardly helps these needy farmers who are under debt and their children even sleep on an empty stomach at night.
One fails to understand why the panchayats don’t take care to remove poverty and relieve the poor and needy class. A scheme has no value unless it is implemented in its real sense. Monitoring is a must for every scheme launched in our country.
