Pratyusha Banerjee's death: Lawyer of Rahul Raj Singh withdraws from the case
In a setback to Rahul Raj Singh, boyfriend of Pratyusha Banerjee who allegedly committed suicide on April 1, his lawyer has withdrawn from the case while giving hints that the TV producer didn't disclose many important facts to him related to the case. Notably Rahul Raj Singh has been booked by the Mumbai police for abetting Pratyusha's suicide.

Rahul's lawyer Neeraj Gupta said he withdrew from the case on humanitarian grounds.

"I withdrew from the case on humanitarian grounds. I felt that I shouldn't be fighting the case, and hence left it so that injustice is not done to anyone," said Gupat as per a report by indianexpress.com which quoted news agency PTI.

Neeraj Gupta said that Rahul kept him in dark and didn't reveal all the facts, which he should had. He said that he got all those details from media.

Pratyusha Banerjee had become famous from her role of adult Anandi in TV serial 'Balika Vadhu'. Pratyusha's parents have held Rahul Raj responsible for their daughter's death.

On the basis of a complaint by Pratyusha's mother Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Rahul Raj Singh and booked him under IPC's sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt).
