President may confer degrees to Kurukshetra University graduates
The President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil is likely to confer degrees to Kurukshetra University graduates. If it happens so, she will be the second president to visit the campus after former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
THEH PRESIDENT of India, Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil may confer degrees to the students of Kurukshetra University on January 14 2012 at the 29th convocation of the university. 
Earlier also, the university had plans for the convocation in November last during the celebrations of Kurukshetra Utsav - Gita Jayanti Samaroh, but she did not turn up. Her arrival in the university may be hailed by academia as was the case with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India who visited the university in 2005 in a special convocation.
According to the university sources, the university conduct branch has notified to all the Ph.D. degree holders since January 2011 to send their consent for their presence in the convocation to streamline their numbers for conferring the degrees.
It is learnt that all postgraduate degree holders cannot be accommodated in the auditorium for convocation, only Ph.D. degree holders will be conferred degrees by the President in this convocation as the list of PhD degree holders and medal winners in the examinations could outnumber seats of the auditorium where the convocation will be held.
