Makar Sankranti is an auspicious occasion for the Hindus that is celebrated in almost all parts of India and Nepal with great fervour and gaiety. Hindus worship the sun on this day.
Lohri is a cultural-cum-harvest festival of the Punjabis with key features of bonfire and merry making to herald the return of longer days. The harvest festival of Lohri is associated with the harvest of rabi crops.
