President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurates Sadhu Vaswani International School in Pune
President Ram Nath Kovind while inaugurating the Sadhu Vaswani International School in Pune on May 30, speaking on the occasion, said that Sadhu Vaswani, the iconic spiritual figure the school is named after, was one amongst our most remarkable nation builders, stated an official press release.

He was of to view that schools needed to make children imbibe 'lessons of culture, character, compassion and courage'.

Praising Sadhu Vaswani's contribution to education, the President said that Sadhu Vaswani taught us to combine the values of our ancient civilisation with the techniques of the modern age.

He added that Sadhu Vaswani's mission was carried forward by his disciple, Dada JP Vaswani, who was dedicating every moment to the cause of humanity.

According to President Kovind, the values-based education helps in promoting ethics in society and keeps us 'informed by knowledge, wisdom and learning' with an 'emphasis on a culture of discussion rather than of dispute' as well as 'addressing disagreements while being mindful of the other person's dignity'.

The President said that a child who imbibes and internalises values would always be sensitive to the world outside, and to those who may be less privileged. He urged children to never forget to contribute to the society, in whichever way they can.
