Prime Minister Modi and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma condole noted music director Ravindra Jain's death
Noted Indian music composer, singer and lyricist Dr Ravindra Jain who was born blind and worked hard to hone the skills of music to rise to level of Filmfare Best Music Director Award in 1985, died on 9th October in Mumbai's Lilawati hospital after prolonged illnesses. His death has been mourned widely by the music lovers and his fans. He died of multi-organ failure at the age of 71.

Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union culture minister, Mahesh Sharma have condoled the passing away of Ravindra Jain. "Ravindra Jain will be remembered for his versatile music and fighting spirit. Pained on his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers", PM Modi said.

Calling Jain an eminent singing performer and music composer Mahesh Sharma said  that Jain would  be remembered fondly as one of the most notable music directors, who composed music for several hit films such as 'Chor Machaye Shor' , 'Geet Gaata Chal' , 'Chitchor' and 'Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se'.

Film fraternity deemed Jain's demise as great loss to film industry and mourned his death.

He started singing at a very young age by reciting devotional songs at Jain temples. Later, he took formal training in music under three master musicians those times. He began his professional career by composing for Bengali films in Kolkata in 1960 and later shifted to Mumbai film world in 1970.
