Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates Justin Trudeau on his victory
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian-Canadian, Justin Trudeau, for his victory in Canadian parliamentary elections.

Trudeau has won the Canada's General Elections with a landslide victory over nine-year-old Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Monday. PM Modi poured in his wishes through Twitter:

Trudeau is a former teacher, boxing enthusiast and politician. He is the son of the former Canadian PM Pierre Trudeau, who was in power from 1968 to 1979 and again from 1980 to 1984.

Trudeau will be Canada's second-youngest Prime Minister ever. Soon after the announcement of his victory, Twitter was flooded with congratulatory tweets for the young leader of the Liberal Party.

Canada voted for its new leader after 10 years, and gave a stunning blow to incumbent Prime Minister Stephen Harper by electing Justin Trudeau. After this victory, the Liberals are leading in 184 districts, which gave them a majority. Meanwhile, the left-leaning New Democratic Party (NDP) is on course to win 44 seats, less than half the number they held in the outgoing parliament. A total of 170 seats are needed for a majority.
