Toyota Motors is working on a plan to fix the brake problems faced by Prius cars and may have a solution for it by next week, as per a message it issued to car dealers on Friday.
IN A bid to nip the problems Toyota Motors may face by issuing a large scale Prius recall, the automaker is apparently working on a plan to fix the brakes of the affected Prius cars.
The company issued a message to dealers, in which Bob Carter, vice president said that it was working fast on a solution to the problem and will be in a position to say more on the matter next week.
Till now, there have been about a 100 complaints about brake problems with the 2010 Prius. These complaints state that the breaks fail for some time when the car is driven over bumpy roads. The problem has caused four crashes and injured two.
Toyota Motors has said that the problem, a software glitch has been fixed in the case of cars still in production. It is now working on a plan to fix the problem in the over 270,000 cars it has sold in US. While it can do so by issuing a recall, another way would be to simply ask the owners to bring their cars for repairs.
.No offense but I can't believe anyone is crazy enough to buy a new car right now in this economy. Considering that a healthy chunk of 2010 Cash 4 Clunkers cars have already been repossessed (i.e. repofinder.com) why not just go to local banks and credit unions and buy these repo cars back for half the retail price? If you're going to buy junk at least don't over pay.
