Priyadarshini Chatterjee crowned Miss India World 2016
Priyadarshini Chatterjee, hailing from Assam, was announced as FBB Femina Miss India World 2016 by the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, in the 53rd edition of the beauty pageant. The star studded ceremony was co-hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Manish Paul, and many eminent personalities from film and sports fraternity attended the event.

Priyadarshini, a student from Delhi University, bagged the title off 21 other finalists, and saw off competition from Bangaluru girl Sushriti Krishna and Luckhnow's Pankhuri Gidwani who got the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

The jury of the event includedSanjay Dutt, Yami Gautam, Arjun Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Amy Jackson, Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna, Ekta Kapoor, tennis player Sania Mirza, designers Manish Malhotra and Shane Peacock.

The evening saw some brilliant performances by Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Jaquline Fernandez , Shahid Kapoor and rapper Badshah. Sunidhi Chauhan performed her hit numbers while the finalists walked the ramp in the final Gown round of the event.

The jury decided on the top three Miss India titles, and the task of announcing it fell on none other than the King Khan himself Shah Rukh Khan, who kept the contestants entertained with his charm and humour as he was promoting his upcoming film FAN, before announcing the winners of the pageant.

Aditi Arya, title holder of last year , crowned Priyadarshini Chatterjee Miss India 2016, and she will be representing India in Miss World pageant.
