Productivity loss due to stress is a major issue in work life
Productivity remains a major worry for present-day corporate houses and to address the challenges..

IN SUCH a scenario motivational training, as defined in this article, helps employees to rejuvenate and beat stress. India’s rapid rise as a fast developing nation; opened opportunity gates wide open for Indian professionals. Along with opportunities for youngsters, this ferocious rise of the corporate brought many other things with it, one of them being stress at work place.

This economically unstable environment has thrown a lot of challenges at employers and employees and has led to increased stress levels and added immense pressure on employees for they are expected to deliver more with limited resources.

To eliminate stress and to bring better synergy among the work force, organizations are leaving no stone unturned and are taking professional help, wherever required. Recently, Infinity Advertising Services Pvt. Ltd., a leading advertising agency based in New Delhi, provided this opportunity to its employees on February 11. P S Rathore, a behavioral trainer and philanthropist, who is known for his out-of-box methods, took the task in his hands.

Ajay Adlakha, Managing Director, Infinity Advertising says, “This kind of workshops are needed to build synergy among the employees and are helpful in teambuilding.” He further added that in an industry like advertising, good understanding among the team members work as an asset and is helpful in serving the clients. Rathore, who is a trained Neuro-linguistic programmer and well trained hypno therapist says, “The biggest reason behind the increased stress levels among the society is the disintegration of traditional family fabric, and this trend is fast catching up in India.”

A firm believer of Indian mythology and tradition, Rathore added, “Stress whether at work place or at home is the sheer outcome of our lifestyle, unless we understand our physical and mental needs the problem will prevail.”

This renowned motivational trainer has evolved some very distinct and rigorous methods of training for the participants and has provided his services to some of the leading names in the world of business such as Microsoft, Saint Gobain, KPMG, HMT, Hero to name a few. He is a celebrity trainer of international fame and has helped Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar to perform ‘the fire-walk’ in one of his movies.

His modules of training are packed with knowledge and fun. The very popular form of his training is ‘The fire Walk’, which he believes, help participants to overcome their fears and phobias.

Before participants go to walk on fire, he ensures that each of them has been motivated through inspirational videos and through his energetic talks. All things in the hall appear to be in his control once he takes the stage. He connects with one and all in the hall and his communication is directed through various activities which involve, walking on glass pieces, breaking tiles and of course a lot of dancing.

During his discourse, he refers to Rajyoga & Shivasutra, two books, which he says, has been the source of learning for him and he very aptly mixes content of these books with psychology and science.

Participants from Infinity took a very active participation in this entire training module and hoped for more such programs in the future. Advertising as a profession involves a lot of creativity, that too under strict deadlines.

Lorren, a copywriter, with this agency said, “After loads of work throughout the week, I desperately needed a break and workshops like this give us a platform to refresh our mind, and after attending it, I am feeling more focused.”

Similar sentiments were shared by other employees as well. Sanjay Kumar, who works as the graphic designer said that workshops of this kind should be promoted as they help people like him to understand others better and helped him distress self.

The magic of the workshop was visible on the faces of participants who even after 10 hours of rigorous training looked fresh and glowing. Mr. Rathore, who started his foray in the motivational training some thirteen years back, says that the desire to see a positive change among the society prompts him to experiment with tradition and psychology and he’s happy that he is able to ‘change some lives from many’.

According to P S Rathore, the imminent reason for increasing level of stress at different levels of society is the outcome of disintegration of our value system. He adds, “My objective is to bring this culture back in India, where son respects his father and father cares for his son, once it is done, there won’t be any such problems in future.”
