Protest peacefully against the malicious movie: UN
Maintaining that it was the right of Muslims to protest against the disgracefully distorted image of their prophet, UN High Commission for Human Rights has stressed the need for peaceful protests against the anti-Islam movie.

"THE FILM is malicious and deliberately provocative and portrays a disgracefully distorted image of Muslims. I fully understand why people wish to protest strongly against it, and it is their right to do so peacefully,” said UN High Commissioner Pillay for Human Rights in a statement.

While expressing concern over violent attacks against Western embassies in Muslim countries over offensive anti-Islam film, UNSC has strongly condemned such attacks that have left several people dead.

With the protests having spread 20-odd countries across the Arab world and Muslim-dominated countries like Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan and Indonesia, UNSC called on all governments to take appropriate steps to protect diplomatic and consular premises against intrusions, violent attacks or damages to the diplomatic facilities.

Pakistan is going to observe this Friday 'Love the Prophet Day' or 'Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool' as national holiday to condemn the controversial film. Pak PM Raja Pervez Ashraf called on people to protest peacefully against the film throughout the country on September 21.

Pak's Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, said that the government will be a part of the protests on Friday after the weekly Muslim prayers.
