THE WEBSITE of the Providence Journal has returned to operation after being down for more than three hours Tuesday morning after apparently experiencing technical problems.
The website started loading properly at about 11 a.m. Tuesday. Customers had to face a lot of inconvenience and problem.
Visitors reaching projo.com Tuesday morning received a blank page except for “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable.” The message typically indicated an overloading of the website servers or a technical failure.
Since now these days, everything is related to computer, our lives seem to be incomplete without it.
Spokespeople for Journal parent, Dallas-based A.H. Belo Corp., were not available for comment on Tuesday morning, a woman in the press office said.At about 10:15 a.m., the newspaper posted a message apologizing for any inconvenience and saying technicians were performing unspecified “system maintenance.”The Journal continued, however, to post items on its Twitter and RSS feeds as well as its news blog. The Journal website last experienced a major outage in July 2009. The most recent outage comes less than a week before A.H. Belo is scheduled to report its second quarter earnings.
