“Numerous recent studies indicate the decline of reading habits, especially in the study of English even in major English speaking countries. In such a situation, how are teachers to make their reading classes effective?
How are they to ensure that their students do acquire reading skills and a reading habit? Papers presented at this conference are expected to study this issue,” stated the conference organisers.
Various teaching areas that will be explored during the conference will be the silent reading and reading aloud; teaching the reading of poetry / prose; text types and apt and effective reading strategies; teaching reading as a comprehension skill; testing and evaluating reading skills; reading for pleasure.
