Punjab & Haryana High Court suggests spiritual leader Ashutosh Maharaj's body be put to rest
Godman Ashutosh Maharaj's body is still lying lifelessly in a freezer for more than 12 days, even after he has been declared clinically dead. His disciples continue to claim that their Guru is in "deep samadhi" and will open his eyes after he comes out of his present highest state of body-mind-consciousness unity.

Despite the fact that many saints, spiritual leaders, family members and his Guru Satpal Maharaj have pleaded for a decent cremation for Ashutosh Maharaj's body, his disciples at the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthaan in refuse to relent.

It seems now that the final call on  Ashutosh Maharaj's 'death' would be taken by his disciples who have complete control over his body and have not allowed anybody to take a glimpse of the 'body' lying in a freezer for the last so many days.

According to the website ‘totalbhakti’, mystery and enigma concealed the health of spiritual preacher and founder of sect Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) Ashutosh Maharaj Ji at the sect’s headquarters which is near Jalandhar city.

"While doctors who examined the spiritual guru declared him 'clinically dead', but his followers and sect management insisting that he had only gone into ‘Samadhi’ i.e., a deep sate of meditation and would come out of it whenever he wish so," informed the website.

However, Justice M M S Bedi of the Punjab and Haryana high court has suggested that the Ashutosh Maharaj's body be honourably put to rest. Meanwhile, the Punjab state government is maintaining a wait and watch stance on the controversial issue of Ashutosh Maharaj's death and his disciples not budging from their ‘Samadhi state’ claim.
