Punjab agriculture department department organizes sowing of cotton demonstration plots
The demonstration serves as an affective instrument for rapid dissemination of technology. In this context, to encourage the crop diversification, demonstration plots are being sown in district Faridkot, said Mohammad Tyab, DC-cum-Chairman- Agri. Technology Management Agency (ATMA).
In this context, cotton demonstration plots were
sown in the fields of Darshan Singh, a farmer in Baggeana village in
Block Kot Kapura and Sukhpreet Singh son of Jagdev Singh of village
Veerewala Khurd in Block Faridkot.
On this occasion, Dr. Jagjit Singh Sekhon, Chief
Agri. Officer, Faridkot said, to save the falling level of water and
with an effort for crop diversification, change with the cotton crop
is the best.
Dr. Amandeep Keshan Project Director ATMA, Faridkot
also informed that demonstration plots are being sown in the district
of different varieties - 10 plots of MRCH 7017, Sriram 6588, RCH 650,
NCS 855 and 14 of RCH 650, NCS 855.
Dr. Bhupesh Joshi, Deputy Project Director ATMA,
also highlighted the precautions to be adopted at the time of sowing
of cotton crop.
Dr. Devinder Singh Block Agri. officer Faridkot
said, efforts are being made to increase the area under cotton
