Punjab Bandh call by Dal Khalsa hits normal life
Punjab Bandh call given by radical outfit Dal Khalsa disrupted normal life in the state today. Rail traffic were disrupted as many trains passing through Punjab were delayed or postponed due to the bandh call.
TRAIN AND bus services were affected in Punjab on Tuesday after activists of a radical Sikh outfit enforced the Punjab bandh, which has been called to protest against the failure of bringing the 1984 anti-Sikh riot accused to justice. Activists of Dal Khalsa disrupted rail traffic at many places affecting the movement of trains bound to Punjab and also passing through it. A number of trains were also postponed by the authorities and the same would be run in the afternoon.
Officials said that trains running between Delhi-Amrtisar and Delhi-Jammu section were primarily affected by the Bandh call. Protesters also blocked roads in several places to disrupt the road traffic and state government vehicles were mostly seen off the roads.
Meanwhile, Dal Khalsa also said that DSGMC had supported the bandh call and stated that all educational institutions run by them would remain close on November 3.
