Queen and Gulaab Gang neck to neck at the box-office
Out of the many bollywood movies released over the weekend, it was Queen and Gulaab Gang, which grabbed many eyeballs in the movie halls. Both the films had females playing the protagonist role and both did extremely well at the box office. Queen starring Kangana Ranaut and Gulaab Gang starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi were giving a tough fight to each other at the ticket window.

Kangana Ranaut's Queen received fantastic reviews from critics, and was released in around 1100 screens across India. Though, the collection on the first day was disappointing but the movie gradually caught pace and did well over the weekend. Positive word of mouth helpd the film fetch decent collections in its opening weekend. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the collection.

Gulaab Gang, which was centered on the struggle of women in India, received mixed reviews from critics and could manage average theater occupancy on the first day. Madhuri-Juhi's 'Gulaab Gang' was expected to open well on the first day, with positive pre-release buzz. However, the film failed to register a fantastic opening and started off on a dull note.

The third release of the week, Total Siyyapaa neither managed to win the hearts of the critics, neither the audience by the looks of it. It didn't even get a decent start and whatever little it could have gained over the weekend was hampered by bad reviews and poor word of mouth. It finally ended up with a business of 2.54 crores only during the weekend.
