THE UNPRECEDENTED queen of ghazal, Penaz Masani was in Gurgaon, to grace a social function, after receiving the prestigious Padma Shri Award from President Ms Pratibha Patil.

Penaz Masani visited Razzel- a Gurgaon based dance school, to interact with the kids. The function jointly organised by Mediavision infotainment company and Razzel. On the occasion she addressed the press and said, when one becomes a nation’s asset after receiving the prestigious Padma Shri and the duty to serve the nation is more than ever. She vowed for the true woman empowerment and said that there have been few social causes closer to her heart, like female feoticide and mal-nutrition for which she would always be available. She would be happy to extend her support to social organisations and corporate supporting and working in these areas. She vowed to promote music among children and also continue her fight against female foeticide and malnutrition among infants. She also urged the people of Gurgaon to vote – vote for the nation and vote for themselves.

An elated and equally humble Penaz said, today’s children and youth are getting more opportunities in music and dance through musical contests and television programmes with instant recognition, than what they had in her times. She appreciated efforts of Anshu Trehun and Deepak Gaur for arranging such a function.

Penaz's sensuality, love and passion clearly appear to be drawn together by her extraordinary vocal range. This unique talent has brought a shower of accolades from renowned institutions of Indian music and reputed maestros and practitioners of the art.

Anshu Trehun welcomed Penaz with flowers and spoke of her institution and Deepak Gaur, director of Mediavision Infotainment Corporation gave vote of thanks and spoke about his past social initiatives and urged people to think about environment. He insisted that everyone should save fuel, electricity and plant two-three saplings a month to make the city greener and pollution free.
