Michael Oko, the director of communications at the World Resources Institute, a Washington DC-based global research organization joined the festival this Sunday and said, '' I spend a lot of my time thinking about sustainable development, and ways to approach it. So it was great to see such an event being organized in Gurgaon that puts people first, and allows them to experience directly what sustainable living feels like, rather than lecturing them.''
As was reported by timesofindia.com, the next logical step towards sustainable development would be to incorporate the same in urban planning. He also met the Municipal Corporation of Girgaon's Chieg Comission, Praveen Kumar. Kumar talked about his chat with Oko, '' I had a chat with Mr Oko on Sunday morning. And I told him to suggest some improvements to us, not only in regard to Raahgiri Day but in general about urban infrastructure and planning of this city.''
