Maniratnam's latest extravaganza Raavan is creating a great buzz around the world. Film fans around the world and particularly India are looking forward to watch this latest Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai flick, which already has cast a spell and is expected to rock on the Box Office.

Aishwarya, Abhishek and Vikram are in the lead roles, while they are ably supported by Ravi Kishen, Govinda, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani. The film has also been made in Tamil and it's premiere was held on June 16 in London.
Parts of Raavan were shot in Tumkur in Karnataka, Kerala, Ooty, Jhansi, Malshej and other places.

It went into post production in October 2009. Raavan is an action film with numerous stunts directed by Maniratnam and choreographed by Peter Hein. The film also features the Kerala martial art Kalarippayattu, whereas there are some intense scenes choreographed by Astad Deboo.

The Tamil version of Raavan is called Raavanan and the cast includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Prithviraj in the lead roles. Others include Prabhu, Karthik, Priyamani, Ranjitha, Munna and others.

Raavanan is a modernised version of Ramayana, in which wife of Lord Rama was abducted by the demon king of Lanka, Ravana. Abhishek Bachchan's character is based on the mythical Ravana, who abducts the Asihwarya Rai, the wife of a police officer Dev (Prithiviraj).

Dev, the police official loves Ragini and marries her. The real story starts when, Dev is posted in a tribal town, where Veera (Vikram) is the warlord and controls the people. Dev and his band of men want to eliminate Veera to enforce law and order, but this is not an easy task.

Raavanan film is a battle between the good and evil and it captures the essence of extreme human emotions. Raavan is a movie that will bring out the best out of Aishwarya Rai in both Hindi and Tamil versions. Aishwarya has given some scintillating dancing acts which capture the emotions of passion, revenge and liberation.

All in all Raavanan is going to a movie which will hit the raw nerve of the movie lovers, who are likely to enjoy it to the hilt.

Cast of Ravan:

Abhishek Bachchan/Prithiviraj
Aishwarya Rai
Vikram
Govinda/Prabhu
Ravi Kishan
Tejaswini Kolhapure/Priya Mani

Music By A.R.Rahman

By the name of experiments and excellence mr. Mr.Mani has hurt the Hindu sentiments. In this movie he has shown Ram as bad , Sita as not a 'pativrata' and she tells Ravan that she will stay back with him.Mr.Govinda who has played Hanumanji's role is a big drunkered in the movie and all the bad thoughts possible against the Hindu faiths. So please who are alll with the Hindu faiths and sentiments think twice before even thinking to watch this movie. A big shame to Mani. I here by would like to request all the film makers please do not misuse the freedom that you have as films are the powerful medium and lots of innocent people watch it.They have also shown as if Laxman and his team has r.... Ravan's sys..This is my personal view about the movie as the personal views of Mr.Mani towards Ramayana
