Radlett Art Society to discuss Hindu art, archaeology and mythology
Hindus have hailed Radlett Art Society (RAS) in England for focusing on Hindu Art. The society is organizing an illustrated talk and discussion on 'Hindu Art, Archaeology & Mythology' at Radlett Centre on October 18, led by Dr. Michael O'Brien.

APPLAUDING RAS for organizing Hinduism focused art discussion, Hindu leader Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said that art had a long and rich tradition in Hinduism and ancient Sanskrit literature talked about religious paintings of deities on wood or cloth.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged major art museums of the world, including Musee du Louvre and Musee d'Orsay of Paris, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Los Angeles Getty Center, Uffizi Gallery of Florence (Italy), Art Institute of Chicago, Tate Modern of London, Prado Museum of Madrid, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, etc., to frequently organize Hindu art focused exhibitions, thus sharing the rich Hindu art heritage with the rest of the world.

This RAS event will reportedly include—an account of the principal deities of the Hindu pantheon, their common manifestations and associated legends, as depicted in Indian Temple Sculpture and the evolution of the Hindu temple from early cave temples and monoliths to richly decorated ones of the 16th Century.

RAS, a registered charity, with Carmen Beal and M. Follett as Chairman and Treasurer respectively, aims to “stimulate interest in fine art”. Radlett, one of the most prosperous areas of Britain with average housing price of over £1,000,000 whose history goes back to 1453, reportedly has the highest proportion of Jewish population in England and Wales. Prominent people associated with Radlett include musician George Michael and actress Lacey Turner.
