Many of Rahul Gandhi's moves have been called as tricks to garner vote bank. On Wednesday (October 6, 2010) Congress prince hammered RSS by his remark. Junior Gandhi described RSS as fanatical group and equated it with banned outlawed SIMI.
GANDHI FAMILY scion, Rahul Gandhi has this habit of doing bizarre things, at times these are taken in the stride by people, while at times these court controversy.
Many of his moves have been called as tricks to garner votes. On Wednesday (October 6, 2010) the Congress prince hammered Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh by his remarks. Junior Gandhi described RSS as fanatical group and equated it with banned outlawed SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India).
The remark immediately courted controversy. RSS top brass termed it as disappointing and unwarranted. The youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh unit took the remark as an opportunity to enlighten Rahul over RSS. The youth wing sent six books on RSS to broaden Rahul's knowledge about RSS. The wing has also demanded apology from Rahul for his derogatory remark. BJP, the main opposition party in the parliament crtiticised Rahul over his derogatory remark aginst RSS. The party said, the remark shows Rahul is still naive in political circle and lacks maturity. Party's spokesperson, Prakash Javedekar said, ''He seems to have lost his mental balance. RSS is an institution of nationalist thought while SIMI has been banned by their (Congress) government as it was banned by us when we were in power. The RSS had served the nation during crises in the past and its contribution to the country was immense. Rahul Gandhi has shown political immaturity and engaged in unruly behaviour.” Dharmendra Pradhan, general secretary, BJP criticised Rahul by saying that then then home minister, Sardar Patel invited RSS for first Republic Day Parade owing to its key role in the cultural and political development of the country.
Though Rahul's remarks were unfortunate, Congress leaders have shown no remorse, they are defending their young turk twisting things and issues here and there in his favour. All Rahul's sycophants have jumped into the fray to impress Sonia Gandhi. Indian politics lacks morality, here what matters is the vote bank; we know why Rahul sparked this issue? Yes, to garner support from minority community. Why can't Rahul take more realistic route to convince Muslims? Why can't he address issues that are plaguing Muslim community in India like education, unemployment and poverty? It seems he is gradually learning Indian way of politics, blackmail people emotionally, make tall promises and win election. At times I feel why world is showering praise on India and think it as an emerging power? I am not anti national, I live in a true India not in pseudo India and have an infatuation for country like any other passionate Indian. True India is still facing problem galore like 35 per cent of Indians are still illiterate, 30 per cent live below poverty line, poor sex ratio, women are discriminated on many fronts, terrorism, Naxalism, unemployment and corruption. Even after more than 63 years of independence, we are still around Bangladesh, Burma and Pakistan in the HDI Index (Human Development Index). Where is the development? Yes, we have developed, rich are getting more richer and poor are becoming more poor and the gap keeps on widening.
