Railway ad goof up shows Delhi is in Pakistan
Railway authorities went red in embarrasment on Saturday after an advertisement in almost all the leading newspapers on the day of inauguration of Maharajas' Express from Kolkatta to Nalanda showed Delhi in Pakistan.
THE RAILWAY authorities went red in embarrasment on Saturday after an advertisement in almost all the leading newspapers on the day of inauguration of Maharajas’ Express from Kolkatta to Nalanda showed Delhi in Pakistan. The ad was published by the Eastern Railway to announce the inauguration of luxury tourist train 'Maharaja's Express' by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

However, the railway autorities swiftly shrugged off the responsibility saying that the concerned advertising agency was to blame. The railway authorites say that they had provided the ad agency only with the route details and not the map that was shown in the advertisement.

On the other hand the owner of the advertising agency said that the route alignment had been given for the benefit of passengers. .” It was never our intention to create a controversy," he said.
Furthermore, Raliways has blacklisted the ad agency.

A small box inside the advertisement panel showed the train route from Kolkata to Delhi via Gaya, Varanasi, Bandhabgarh, Khajuraho, Agra and Gwalior.

In the background of the outline of a small map of India showed Kolkata in the Bay of Bengal and Delhi in Pakistan for which Eastern Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer Samir Goswami expresed sincere apologies and said that the agency has been suspended.

Looks like theres always something that always keeps India and Pakistan in the news.
