Rajasthan's Baneshwar fair starts today
Baneshwar Fair, a popular tribal festival held in the Baneshwar Temple of Dungarpur in Rajasthan will begin on February 8 with culturual performances by the folk artists from the state.

Large number of tourists attend the festival, which is held on the full moon day of February or Magh Shukla Purnima.

Today's evening will also be wrapped up with a spiritual 'Bhajan Recital' and on February 9 and 10, folk performances, have been organised by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur.

On this pious occasion, Bhils travel all the way from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to take a dip at the confluence of the rivers, Mahi and Som.

'Tribal Sports' and 'Religious processions' are other major attractions at the fair. It will also host highly energetic 'Gair Dance' performances by men wearing colorful red ghagras.

In addition to the Baneshwar Fair, the Vagad Festival is also one of the popular celebrations of Dungarpur.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan along with the District Administration, Dungarpur will be organising the cultural programmes at the 'Baneshwar Fair'.
