Politics seems to govern the lives of our leaders and they do everything that would give them an edge over their opposition. Rajbala Devi's cremation seems one such occasion where the BJP could get even with the ruling government.
THE DEATH of Rajbala Devi, who became a victim of police lathi charge in Ramlila Maidan, succumbed to her injuries and this gave a new lease of life to the dying cause of Ramdev Baba. Rajbala Devi was cremated in her native village of Bhatana on Tuesday. In order to lend support and forward their own cause BJP leaders went to the village to pay condolence and also assure that it was not a death but a murder.

She was quick to say that Rajbala Devi would be avenged and that she is a martyr. Whatever be the actual reason, the direct attack on the ruling government taking in account of someone’s death looks in bad taste for the opposition party. Althoug the motive was to pay condolence to the family but Sushma Swaraj’s words said something else.
The man behind all the events, Ramdev Baba also cut short his Bharat Swabhiman Yatra and arrived here from Kanpur to pay his last respects to his follower and described Rajbala as a “martyr". The ruling government also did not help the matter by being absent from the occasion as this gave enough license to Ramdev to question the government. Ramdev taunted the government of not sending anyone to pay last respects.
Time and again it was noticed that it was not Rajbala’s cremation but a political move by everyone to meet some political end. People paying ‘condolence’ would never truly understand the grief of the family. Ramdev Baba also announced that 624 districts would hold condolence meetings in honour of Rajbala and Shushma Swaraj named it as the cause of the nation.
