Rajdev Ranjan murder case: Wanted sharpshooter Mohammad Kaif surrenders in Siwan
Mohammad Kaif, a wanted sharpshooter in the murder of Bihar-based journalist Rajdev Ranjan, has surrendered. Recently, pictures of Kaif with don-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin and Bihar's Health Minister Tej Pratap had gone viral on social media.

Kaif alias Bunty has surrendered before a Siwan court on Wednesday. He has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.

After the alleged shooter was spotted with Shahabuddin and Tej Pratap, the murdered journalist's wife Asha Ranjan had moved to the Supreme Court and requested that the murder investigation be shifted to Delhi, alleging that her family was not safe with Mohammad Kaif at large.

The CBI has been asked to investigate the murder case of Rajdev Ranjan.

Meanwhile, in an another significant development, Additional District and Sessions Judge of Siwan Ajay Kumar Srivastava, who had awarded life imprisonment to controversial RJD leader Mohammad Shahabuddin in a murder case, has been transferred to Patna.

According to sources close to the judge, he had requested for transfer due to 'family reasons'. It has also been clarified that the transfer is routine and it is not because of any threat.

Recently, the Patna High Court had granted bail to Shahabuddin in the same case in which he was awarded life sentence.
