Rajiv Gandhi homage: Is it a tribute or political sycophancy?
Each year Gandhi Family, Congress party leaders pay homage to Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi on their birth and death anniversaries. However, we have never seen them paying homage to Kamala Nehru and Feroz Gandhi.
TODAY IS 19th death anniversary of Congress's beloved former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. If we go through any of daily newspaper etc., we found it full with numerous big advertisements paying tribute to late Rajiv Gandhi published on the behalf of various ministries. This is not new in India where Gandhi family is treated like royals. Are they not members of Gandhi family? Why this step motherly treatment to two members? The government is spending crores in maintenance etc of their memorials. I agree, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were Prime Ministers of India. But, what was contribution of Sanjay Gandhi to the nation? The ruling Congress Government only thinks of Gandhi family. Did only these three Prime Ministers have contributed to nation? The various government ministries in central and Congress ruling states published huge advertisement in newspaper etc. for these four Gandhi family members on their birth and death anniversaries. Is this necessary? Did this come under useful expenditure? Alternatively, it is way of sycophancy to Gandhi family. Governments must stop this wasteful expenditure.

No doubt , Neetu Banga deserve appreciation for raising pertinent issue providing the facts. It will be appreciated by the people that the huge expenditure on the birthday or death anniversaries on all the the leaders as a psychophancy measure should be avoided. It is expected from the government that in future such type of amount will be used for the COMMON MAN (AAM ADAMI ).
