A 11-year-old boy from Rajkot scored 1,000 marks out of a possible 1,000 marks in an online test, which was conducted by Microsoft Corp. The examination saw participation by 17,000 candidates from 119 countries.
AKSHIT JAYESH Dhruv, a class V student from Rajkot district in Gujarat created history by scoring 1,000 marks in a test conducted by the US-based multinational organisation, Microsoft Corp.
Dhruv had appeared for the exam on March 16 and competed against nearly 17,000 candidates from 119 countries. The exam was attempted by a group of candidates who ranged from Class III to post-graduates, and Dhruv secured the first place.
An elated Chirag Kothari, Centre Head of Inside Tomorrow Computer Academy, where the 11-year-old Dhruv studied, confirmed the record set by Dhruv. He further stated that earlier, a 21-year-old electronic communications student Shruti Doshi had set the bar by scoring 1,000 marks. Interestingly, Shruti too studied in the same institution as that of Dhruv and had broken the then world record of 999 marks that was scored by Peter Phill of New Zealand in 2004. In order to appear for the exam, the five-month course comprises of basic computer course with regards to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Express. After the completion of the course, the student appears for the exam, which is conducted online. The time period set for answering each answer is just 3.6 seconds, and those who were in the top five per cent immense speed in answering all the questions right to score a 1,000 out of 1,000 marks.
