Ramadan begins with religious fervour and fasting by Muslims in Jaipur
Ramadan has begun in many places in the country by the evening of Sunday, 5th May, and will end in the evening of Tuesday, 4th June. Ramadan embarks the start of the holiest month of the Islamic calendar marked by fasting, charity and purification of mind.

The month is also marked by religious gatherings various mosques to offer prayers all night long because of the revelation of the holy Quran in this Holy month.

In Jaipur, non-Muslim members of the community such as Hindus and Jains will be organizing iftar parties and other celebratory events for their Muslim neighbours.

Ramadan will culminate with the three day festivities known as Eid-Ul-Fitr which occurs on the first, second and third of Shawal.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar which is marked worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm) to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad to get associated with fasting, prayer, reflection and brotherhood. Further, the observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

Like every other special occasion, this festival of Muslim is also observed and celebrated on the social media platforms by sending holy Eid quotes, wishes, picture messages, SMS, and much more.
